Description
Villacher Kirchtag Soup – Homemade According to Carinthian Tradition (440 g)
Just in time for the 81st anniversary of the Villacher Kirchtag, we are introducing a culinary premiere to the market: for the very first time, the original Villacher Kirchtag Soup is available as a ready-to-eat product in Austrian retail. Traditionally filled in glass jars, sterilized and shelf-stable without refrigeration, this marks the first time a true Carinthian specialty becomes suitable for everyday enjoyment.
Our homemade Villacher Kirchtag Soup is a genuine festive delicacy, prepared according to a traditional recipe that has been passed down for generations in Villach. This hearty, mildly creamy soup is especially popular during the Kirchtag festival season, yet it fits perfectly on the table all year round.
Produced with artisanal care, the soup contains four different types of gently cooked meat: beef, pork, lamb, and chicken. The base is a rich and savory meat broth, delicately seasoned with saffron, garlic, herbs, and spices. Sour cream and cream provide its characteristic smooth and creamy texture.
What makes our Villacher Kirchtag Soup so special?
The combination of deep, robust meat flavor, traditional seasoning, and finely balanced creaminess makes this soup truly unique. It is ideal as a festive soup, as a starter, or as a main course served with bread or traditional dark rye bread.
Thanks to sterilization in the 440 g glass jar, the soup has a long shelf life, is quick to serve, and can be conveniently heated without any loss of flavor.
Preparation Tip
Shake the jar, open it, and gently heat the soup in a pot over medium heat (do not boil). Pour into a soup bowl, sprinkle lightly with cinnamon, and enjoy together with Danke Bauer Reindling.
