Description

With Living Seeds’ organic safflower seeds, you’ll bring vibrant colours to your garden. This annual plant delights with its intense blooms in dark orange, yellow and red, and is ideal for flowerbeds, borders or as a cut flower in a vase. Bees and butterflies in particular are attracted to the flowers, thereby promoting biodiversity in your garden. Sowing is best done directly into the ground from March to May, at a germination temperature of 15–20 °C. A sunny spot and well-drained soil ensure vigorous plants and abundant flowering from July to September. The dyer’s thistle is versatile: its flowers are used as ‘false saffron’ for colouring food or serve as a natural dye for textiles. It also looks great as a decorative accent in dried flower bouquets. With these organic seeds, you’re choosing sustainability and quality – for a colourful, natural garden and creative uses in the kitchen and for decoration.
