Caring for your sustainable High Waist period briefs:

It’s super easy to look after your underwear! After use, simply rinse out the blood with cold water – keep doing this until the water runs clear. You can machine wash them on a cold cycle (30°) or hand wash them using a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener or bleach. Hang the underwear up to dry. Once dry, the underwear is ready to be reused

How long can I wear AllMatters period underwear?You can wear period underwear for as long as your period allows – some people can wear it for a whole day, whilst others use it as an alternative to a cup or tampon. We generally recommend using it for 8–12 hours. You can also wear period underwear overnight and during spotting or discharge. The underwear itself will last for years.

How much blood can period underwear absorb? AllMatters period underwear can absorb the equivalent of 1–2 standard tampons’ worth of blood (10 ml). This means that some people can wear it for a whole day, whilst others use it as a replacement for a cup or a tampon.

How many pairs of period underwear do I need, and how do I know when they’re full?

We recommend having 3–4 pairs of period underwear so that you can change into a fresh pair after 8–12 hours of wear. Wash and dry the used ones before reusing them.

You can tell by looking at the seams of the gusset. If you see blood on the seams or the underwear feels wet, this is a sign that you should change them soon. At first, it can be difficult to know how long you can wear them, but you’ll quickly get a feel for your flow and how long you can go without any leaks.
