In earlier times, a poppy seed mortar or a poppy seed mill was used for this, which can still be found in many households today!
Our tip: Put the freshly crushed gray poppy seeds in the freezer, then you will always have fresh poppy seeds for baking & Cooking available. Shelf life: 10 days in the refrigerator, approx. 6 months in the freezer.
