Our Greek ‘Extra Virgin’ olive oil, of the highest grade, comes directly from an organic farmer in the mountainous region of Pelion, near Volos. Pelion is situated south-east of Central Greece. The hand-harvested olives are gently cold-pressed using mechanical methods and the oil is unfiltered. Our olive oil is personally assessed to ensure its quality. It was awarded a score of 49.25 out of 50 at the Wieselburg ‘Ab-Hof Messe’. The fruit acidity of our oil is 0.2 per cent, which is an excellent figure. For ‘Extra Virgin’ olive oil, the fruit acidity may be up to 0.8 per cent. A good olive oil is fruity, has a naturally peppery finish and shows no sensory defects. The olive oil undergoes chemical analysis to confirm its top-grade quality. Our cold-pressed oils are incredibly healthy thanks to their antioxidant properties, which help prevent heart attacks, strokes, joint pain and much more.
