Biohof Goldenits - Black Garlic
We at Biohof Goldenits have dedicated ourselves to refining healthy food from our own cultivation. The cultivation and care during the growing process as well as the careful harvesting and further processing takes place entirely in sunny Burgenland, more precisely in the small village of Tadten in Seewinkel, right next to the Neusiedlersee National Park. We have been growing vegetables on our family farm for three generations and converted to organic farming in 2007. Our grandfather already grew garlic. However, domestic production was soon no longer able to keep up with imported garlic from China, Argentina or Egypt, and cultivation in Austria almost died out. Since 2010, we have wanted to counteract this trend and have been growing garlic in controlled organic quality ever since. At the same time, we started our first experiments with the fermentation of our products and were Austria's first producers of "black garlic" at the time.
